WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko- I really picked this book up on a whim and I’m really happy that I did! This is a west African inspired fantasy with a very complex world. It is absolutely captivating and I keep finding myself sucked into this world! I am hoping to finish it soon, although I am having trouble focusing with all my school work.

We are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler- Speaking of school work, this is a book I am currently reading for an English class. Literary fiction is never something I have gravitated towards, so reading this has been a unique experience. But so far I am enjoying the audiobook, even if I wouldn’t have picked it up on my own.

WHAT HAVE YOU RECENTLY READ?

Black Enough by various authors- I just finished up this anthology today and absolutely loved it! There was not a single short story I disliked, and I loved listening to so many different stories from Black authors from all backgrounds. I would highly recommend picking this up!

A Dance of Silver and Shadow by Melanie Cellier- I had really mixed feelings about this when I first finished it, but now that I’ve had time to process it, I can say it was an overall enjoyable read! It definitely relied pretty heavily on some common YA tropes, but it was cute and fun and I will be continuing with the series!

WHAT WILL YOU READ NEXT?

Sweet & Bitter Magic by Adrienne Tooley- This is a book I need to get to next, because I need to finish it before it comes out March 9! I honestly have no idea what this is about, but the cover is stunning and it has been compared to Girls of Paper and Fire, so I have high expectations.

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair- I am so excited for this book because it has been hyped up so much (will I be disappointed? Probably). But this is a modern day Hades and Persephone retelling so I have high hopes because I love their story so much.
