Hello everyone!

My city just got their first snow of the year, so I thought it was fitting to do the “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” Book Tag!

I found this tag over at Pilar’s Blog. The original creator of this tag is Erin @ Reading On a Star, so be sure to check out both of those blogs!

1. ☃️ Snow Day ☃️: What’s Your Comfort Book?

I am really bad at rereading books, and because of that I don’t really have a comfort book I go to! However, if I had to choose one, I think it would be The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I remember the first time I read it was when I found out a classmate of mine died, and the second time was when I lost my job due to COVID. So this book definitely has helped me through some tough times!

2. 😇 Snow Angels 😇: What’s a book that you love so much you would want to be buried with it?

This is an intense prompt! For this, I think I would have to say Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo. I read that book this year during the COVID shutdown and it just brought me so much happiness. I loved the relationship between the sisters and the Dominican Pride the author clearly had while writing this.

3. 🧦 Warm Socks 🧦: What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you’ve ever read?)

I immediately thought of Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. I read this book a few months ago and I just absolutely loved it. It made me laugh and cry and I just loved the romance set in The White House. There are so many important conversations about coming out and just love in general that I will never be over this. Alex and Henry were both such lovable characters, and I loved all the side characters as well. I can’t wait to reread it!

4. ☕️ Hot Cocoa ☕️: What winter-themed novels have you previously read?

Honestly, I haven’t read many winter themed novels this year because I was pretty slumpy last January-March, so I read a lot of contemporaries. Last December, though, I did read One Day in December by Josie Silver and really loved it! This is a slow burn romance that takes place over the course of 10 years. Laurie makes eye contact with a handsome stranger on the bus, and immediately feels a connection to him. She sets out on a quest with her best friend, Sarah, to find him, only to have Sarah introduce him to Laurie as her boyfriend a few months later.

5. 🛷 Sledding 🛷: What’s a book with the best plot twists? Who’s an author that always keeps you on your toes?

I had a bit of trouble coming up with an answer for this one, but I have decided that Shelby Mahurin is a pretty good contender. When I read Serpent & Dove a few months ago, I remember being desperate to talk to someone about all the plot twists that were happening. I certainly didn’t see them coming, which made that book a really fun one for me to read!

6. 🧶 Ugly Sweaters 🧶: What’s a book with the ugliest cover?

I tend to ignore books with ugly covers, so I couldn’t really think of any off the top of my head that strike me as super ugly. So, I think the ugliest book on my TBR is probably Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. This isn’t a horrible cover, but I think we can all agree it isn’t doing the book any favors.

7. 🍿 Movie Marathon 🍿: What’s the last book you binge read?

Wow, I haven’t binge read in quite awhile if I’m being honest! I think the last time I truly binge read a book was back in June while I was reading You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle. I loved this book so much and read it in one day! This is romance that follows a couple who is engaged to be married. However, as the wedding nears closer they have drifted apart and really can’t stand each other. Both people want to break of the engagement, but whoever does has to pay for the massive wedding they have planned. This was such a fun book and a bit different from other romances I have read!

8. ✉️ Letter to Santa ✉️: What’s a book that’s on your wish list this year?

Oh wow, I have so many! I definitely hope I am gifted The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, but also asked for Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson, House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, and Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo.

That concludes this tag! I tag:

Riddhi @ Whispering Stories
Em’s Shelf Love
The Bookish Sweet Tooth
Cherelle @ A Bolt Out of a Book

And anyone else who thinks this tag looks fun!!
