A few days ago I posted a fall book tag, which made me want to do a fun Christmas book tag! I have been ready for Christmas for awhile now (I put up my tree November 3!!) and I am so happy it is finally an appropriate time to celebrate!
You can find the original tag here.
1) A fictional family you would like to spend christmas dinner with?
I would love to have Christmas dinner with Starr’s family. Both Starr and Maverick were such memorable characters who have such impactful stories. Maverick is always so supportive and throwing in all these words of wisdom. I can’t wait to read his book when it comes out in January!
2) A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?
I don’t have that many books on my Christmas wish list this year (I am trying to save on shelf space!) but one book I really want to get ahold of is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I have heard so many amazing things about this story and the premise just sounds so intriguing. I can’t wait to have my own copy so I will be free to annotate it!
3) A fictional character you think would make a perfect christmas elf?
I really struggled with this prompt, but I think that I have decided that Jihoon from Wicked Fox would make a pretty great elf! His presence in this book is just so comforting, and he is just totally selfless! I think he would also be a great gift giver.
4) Match a book to it’s perfect christmas song.
The song I thought of with this book was ‘All I Want For Christmas is You,’ because literally I want for Christmas is to be able to reread this book for the first time again because it is literally perfection. My heart is so warm just thinking about it.
5) Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?
So, I wasn’t really expecting all that much from this book, but I didn’t think I would hate it as much as I did. There was literally nothing redeemable about this book, and even though it was written in 2005 and YA has come a long way since then, I still wouldn’t hesitate to put it on the naughty list.
6) A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?
I’ll Be The One is definitely a book that I would love to see get more love! I know there was some buzz on it when it first came out, but I haven’t heard much since. This is a super great YA contemporary that talks about body positivity and beauty standards, especially in the world of K-Pop. I loved it so much!
7) Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully christmasy feel to it.
I don’t read very many holiday themed books, but I did read One Day in December last December and really enjoyed it! The cover may not be Christmas themed, but it is definitely winter themed which I think definitely counts.
8) A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?
Trigger Warning for Sexual Abuse
For this prompt, I immediately thought of Grown! I loved every second spent reading this book. It is such an important story and I know will definitely change lives. If you have any interest in this book, I cannot suggest it enough because it is such an eye opening story about child sex trafficking and assault. It will make you sick, but it is a story that needs to be heard.
That concludes this tag! I tag:
And anyone else who wants to do this! Happy reading!!
